honeymouse SG Hello everyone.... I am still in office. Staying back to finish off some work as I had been away on site visits for the past few day, only got home yesterday afternoon. I will be away again tomorrow to go to Sydney for a company conference. Anyway, I have finished what I wanted to do so just leave the rest for next week. Now I am just waiting for my hubby as he's got Chinese lesson tonight. Hope everyone has had a good day so far!
the Bear SG my head hurts coz i had to wrap a bunch of stuff the office wrapping paper is hilarious.. it's dark blue with silver logo in repeated patterns.. looks like those traditional chinese funeral clothes for the deceased

Wanda SG What? No bursting into the forum in flames? I had a lovely lunch ...it took 2.5 hrs and 5 or 6 courses, and best of all, it was a treat from my colleague whom I'd just got to know better in the past couple of months. It's lovely when colleague become good friends.
SBS3625D SG Yesterday so funny, we drop the anchor in harbour and next thing we know the 3 biggest officers on my ship rushed down thinking our ship was breaking up in harbour.
honeymouse SG Ha ha.... so that he can communicate with my parents who can't understand English. He not only learns how to speak but learns how to write too. He seems to do better in writing than speaking though!
elindra SG Then he is better than MPB in a sense MPB speaks chinese fluently and accurately but fails horribly when it comes to reading and writing MPB does not need to know how to speak mandarin to communicate with my parents or relatives though because they will speak fluent English including my grandmother And the sad thing is, MPB speaks much much much better mandarin than the majority of my relatives Anyway he prefers people not to know that he understand mandarin so that maybe they will say something in front of him thinking that he does not understand
honeymouse SG I don't think my hubby is better. At least MPB can communicate with someone in Chinese. Writing and reading are not that important if you only use it to communicate (verbally) like my hubby's case. I'd prefer he could speak.
elindra SG Ya la the hilarious incident he told me about his Chinese colleagues pushing him to talk to this PRC engineer because they couldn't understand the PRC When he told me that I asked him to repeat the story like 3 times till he got mad because I didn't quite believe what I was hearing He did tell me the PRC's eyes were like dropping out of its sockets
honeymouse SG I am very impressed with MPB's ability to understand the PRC. I am struggling sometimes to understand them.
elindra SG That is coz he is on pretty good terms with some PRC engineers whom I told him seems more Singaporeans than us Heck we were in Bangkok with 1 PRC couple and seriously I think they have been living here for way too long that they think like us What I hate about MPB is that sometimes when I speak to him in Mandarin, he will go," You're talking to me? I don't understand Mandarin"
honeymouse SG If my hubby can get half as good as MPB, I will be very happy. Anyway, I know he's working on it. That's the effort that counts. All right, I am going to meet hubby in the city now. Have a good night everyone!!! Take care.
